Our founder, Brittany Hoban has worked in the film industry for ten years as an Art Department coordinator, scenic painter and decorator. It was there she realized that the “magic” of movie magic is the beauty of numerous creative and logistical components coming together to tell a story. That is what we do at Idlewild. Where many decorators default to new purchases, we focus on affordability and sustainability. We pull from what you already have in your home whenever possible. If it’s time for something new we source from where you shop. Whether it’s West Elm or thrift stores we can find it. Every recommendation is personal, practical, and client-centered. The result isn’t a showroom. It’s a space that feels like you.

We also purchase select vintage and antique home decor on site so you can skip the hassle of marketplace.
